After the events of the story, Fakir's life was quite peaceful and content. He would spend his days writing by the pond, his unusually faithful and well-trained duckling by his side.

At least, until Fakir and his duck went out of town to some friends' wedding. He came back without his duck, the desire to write, or the desire to dance. He dropped ballet under the claim of a career ending injury and stopped writing anything outside of required class essays. His dour mood only got worse when a redheaded girl showed up and took the vacant spot in the ballet division.

But then Charon suggested Fakir do something new with himself. If the time wasn't right to dance or write, maybe it was time to smith. Fakir decided to give it a try and found it to his liking.

Now that Fakir can build a new future for himself, he can put the past behind him.
